I made a new web, now what?
- If you only see text links instead
of theme navigation buttons, you may
need to apply the theme. Go to
Format/Theme and choose the
eXPansive theme and apply it with
all boxes checked.
- Read through all the pages to learn
about how to use this web template.
You may wish to start at the Site
Map. Other pages to note: how
to create a new web.
- Look through the pages in this web
template and decide which ones you
want to keep and which ones you want
to delete. Note that you can rename
pages instead of deleting them. You
may want to work out on paper your
navigation structure and the
different pages that you will have.
- Go through the process of
adding/deleting pages and adding
your content. Finally, publish your
web!
Changing Layout
We have formatted the tables so that this
page will look good and resize in Netscape
and Internet Explorer. If you wish to change
the layout, please follow these
instructions.
About this page layout
This page has been very carefully
formatted with different nesting tables so
that it resizes both vertically and
horizontally. Do not drag on any table
lines - you may "freeze" the
page so that it no longer resizes properly.
Adding other columns to the page
This main body text along with the top
blue box for the Swish movie is within a
nested table. You may click in here and go to Table
> Split Cells to form more columns, or
click within a cell, go to Table > Select
> Cell to highlight the cell, and Delete
the cell (Table > Delete Cells).
Search-engine friendly text
We've put a blue row at the top of the
page where you can type in your
search-engine friendly text.

Replace this graphic with your own. Be
sure to keep it the same dimensions. We've
included a Photoshop file
in the images folder for your convenience.
Editing Swish movies
You need to own Swish in order to edit
the Swish movies. (Please note that the
moving sky is not a Swish movie and you
cannot edit it.) All movies are in a
subfolder called "flash."
There are two movies -- one called "homepage.swi"
and one called "needswish.swi."
You may edit these movies by opening them in
Swish and deleting the text layers, then
adding your own text and effects. Swish has
a lot of built-in help and tutorials that
you may find useful. You may also "Save
As" these files under different names
if you want to have several different movies
(for example, have a different movie for
each page). We recommend that you keep the
movies at the same dimension for easy
replacement in FrontPage.
Export the movies in swf format to your
hard drive, then import the movies into
FrontPage, by first clicking on the
"flash" folder to select it, then
going to File > Import. Click
"Add" and browse to your movies,
then click OK until your movies are
imported. If you are using the same file
names, go ahead and replace the existing
movies with your own.
If you have created different Swish
movies, simply go into HTML view and change
the file name of the Swish movie. There are
two places you will need to do this:

Type in the file name of your new
Swish movie, and save.
If you do not own Swish, you may
delete the movie and replace it with your
own image, text, or animation. See the Read
